Renagades (Rage Against the Machine)
by Jacob Klippenstein posted January 22, 2005
This cover CD was rush released after the split between Zach de la Rocha and the rest of Rage Against the Machine. They covered a wide variety of songs from some of the bands that were influential to their music. The title of the album coming from Afrika Bambaataa's "Renegades of Funk" which is the song that makes the album. Other notable bands covered on this album included Cypress Hill's "How I Could Just Kill a Man," Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad," MC5's "Kick Out the Jams," and Volume Ten's "Pistolgrip Pump." This album kicked ass because of it's brilliant way to take these covered songs and while not changing them too much give them a better feel then ever. A feeling that could only come from Rage Against the Machine.
